It’s Never Too Early to Start Thinking About Baseball

    February 1st, 2008 by Mark O.

With the Big Game this weekend, we’re about to enter what I think of as the “Black Hole of Sports”… also know as the time between the Super Bowl and the beginning of Spring Training. During this time our sports lives are reduced to regular season NBA games (zzzz), regular season NCAA hoops (zzzz) and the NHL if you happen to be one of the 17 or so people that get Versus.

Thankfully it’s only a few weeks until pitchers and catchers report and we can start obsessing about America’s game (editor’s note: America’s game is football). For MLB it’s been an off-season of the Mitchell Report, more Congressional hearings and a few blockbuster trades that culminated this week with Johan Santana moving (probably) to the Mets.

With that in mind, it’s time to get out the Neat’s Foot Oil and prepare for the upcoming season. To help you get in the mood, Home Run Derby (www.homerderby.com) has this post about the 2008 Marlins Cheerleaders. You may recall some of our past posts about Mexican baseball cheerleaders… and while the gals from South ‘o the Border are still the pre-eminent baseball pom-pom shakers, the Mermaids are definitely nothing to turn up our noses at. Enjoy.

P.S. The Neat’s Foot Oil is to soften the leather on your mitt after a long winter in the garage…you perverts.
