According to a Los Angeles Times article, actor Roy Scheider (of Jaws- “you’re gonna need a bigger boat” fame) made a $50 donation (sounds like he needed a bigger nest egg) to Barack Obama’s campaign on March 10th. The trouble is, Scheider died one month before his donation on February 10th. Hmmmm….unless heaven (or hell) has internet connectivity or a Western Union, I’m pretty sure that’s an illegal campaign donation.

The Obama campaign claims the donation was on a “monthly credit card donation” and it will be halted this month. Suuuuuurrrrrre…we believe you. All on the up and up. Plenty plausible that a celebrity would be on a $50 a month installment plan. Riiiiiiiiight.

Just in case the Obama campaign needs some other dead celebs to make donations, we suggest going to the “Dead People Server” which is an online obituary for celebrities. May we suggest Kurt Vonnegut, Boris Yeltsin, Liz Claiborne, or Phil Rizzuto- all who died last year.
