The Ten Worst
Updating you on the ten worst offenses and defenses in America, at least statistically speaking. As an added bonus, I’ve also got the ten worst on 3rd down conversions and turnovers for your reading and referencing enjoyment.
Some movement in the ten worst offenses, most notably is Michigan moving out and Syracuse moving in. Syracuse has the dubious distinction of placing in the ten worst on both offense and defense- nice! Also honorable mention to the PAC-10 who place three teams in the bottom ten.
The bottom ten on defense has a new # 114 in UAB, taking the place of former # 114 Louisiana Lafayette.
The bottom ten on 3rd down conversions has several BCS-conference members plus former offensive juggernaut Hawaii at the very bottom. On 33 3rd down attempts, Hawaii has converted 5 for a 15.2% conversion rate. Maybe former QB Colt Brennan was a better quarterback than he got credit for.
Finally, the ten worst on turnover margin. Hawaii holds down worst on this list also with a -9 turnover margin through three games. A couple other medium-profile programs here including UCLA and South Carolina.
You’re welcome.
