Don’t Bother Showing up for Work Monday, You’re Fired

Apparently the Bush-Obama transition worked a little too smoothly. The same fear machine that brought us “Tarp, Episode 1″ is now in full sell-mode on “Stimulus Episode II, The Next Trillion”. And apparently the economic situation is far more dire than previously reported.

During a recent press conference, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said “Every month that we do not have an economic recovery package, 500 million Americans lose their jobs. I don’t think we can go fast enough (in our approval of the bill) to stop that.”

That’s a remarkable statement given that the U.S. Census estimates there are only 305 million people in the U.S. At a rate of 500 million lost jobs per month as espoused by Ms. Pelosi, that means that every American will be out of work in about 19 days. Better enjoy February because come March, we’ll all be doing PJ’s 24/7.

Also nice that CNN just completely glossed over the statement during their “reporting on the end of the world segment”. Nice work lefties.
